STAC Track: promoting social inclusion, community and mentorship

Communities We Serve

STAC Track is committed to serving and empowering at-risk marginalized BIPOC youth. By offering free or low-cost programming, transportation assistance, and equipment, we ensure that every young person—regardless of their socioeconomic background, everyone has the opportunity to participate in a supportive, high-quality athletic environment.

Program Impact

STAC Track exemplifies our mission of transforming lives through sports. By eliminating financial obstacles, we extend opportunities to many more youth, enabling them to experience the same benefits of athletic, academic, and personal development as others. Through athletics combined with mentorship and community connection, we create pathways to academic achievement, physical health, and lifelong success. Our structured training cycle ensures that participants are prepared to excel in both STAC competitions and school-based athletic programs, creating a seamless path to post-secondary opportunities and lifelong success.

Inclusive Athletics: From introductory sessions to competitive training sessions, youth learn and participate in events such as sprints, middle-distance, long distance, relays, and cross-country meets.

Structured Training Cycle: Our program operates year-round to provide comprehensive athletic development:

Fall and Winter: Training focuses on preparing youth for indoor track meets, building strength, speed, and endurance during the colder months.  Building positive relationships amongst peers and supporting the team environment.

Spring and Summer: Athletes transition to outdoor track meets and prepare to excel in their school track and field events, creating strong synergies between STAC and their school teams.

Late Summer and Early Fall: Training shifts to cross-country meets, emphasizing endurance and tactical racing skills on the trails.
This structured cycle ensures continuous development and aligns with competitive opportunities throughout the year.

Mentorship and Guidance: Athletes receive mentorship from experienced coaches, who emphasize the values of teamwork, perseverance, and discipline. These mentors also guide participants in navigating life challenges, including academic support and career development.  We also bring in college and university athletes to share their journey with our youth to help them visualize that they are able to do the same things as these mentors to achieve their goals.

Removing Financial Barriers: Our commitment to removing financial barriers allows youth from equity-deserving communities to access the same opportunities, resources, and support as other youth that do have the financial means and
